We are always pleased to provide verbal appraisals free of charge,
either at the Saleroom or at your home. Customers intending to bring
items to the Saleroom are advised to telephone us book an appointment,
to ensure a Valuer is available. Written appraisals with a view to
sale can also be arranged.
These are
regularly undertaken for the purpose of Probate, Insurance and Family
Division/Inheritance Tax by our Manager, Thom Sarjeant. Where
appropriate, a team of up to three Valuers in various fields can
attend.
Fees for these
services depend upon the value of the items and the time involved.
Generally speaking a valuation of a few high-value items will not be
charged at the standard 1% fee if the time involved does not warrant
it.
Probate
valuations for solicitors generally involve a “global” or overall
figure, but itemised prices are available on request.
