Our sales are held in our purpose-built 1500 square meter Saleroom. Which is based on junction 40 of the M6 (one of the main routes for the trade between London-Edinburgh)

Our fortnightly sales of Victoriana and Later Furnishings are held every other Wednesday and consist of 800-1000 lots.  They consist of Victorian and earlier furnishings up to modern day furniture, white goods etc.

We hold quarterly fine art, antiques and collectors catalogue sales, with our traditional fully illustrated catalogue still ever popular.  We also hold specialist sales of coins and banknotes, jewellery, garden and architectural and also tool sales.  We also occasionally hold single-owner dispersal sales, on request and these can be held on site.

We were the first auction company in Cumbria to offer online bidding some 8 years ago back in 2003 and again first to offer full live (real time) bidding back in 2006.  We now are the only auctioneers in Cumbria offering two live bidding systems running side by side through both www.the-saleroom.com and www.invaluable.com .  This together with our extensive local and national advertising and our database of buyers offers sellers the chance to reach the widest international audience.

We hold record price for a number of Cumbrian artists including Alfred & William Heaton-Cooper, William Lakin Turner, and also £40,000 for a Winifred Nicholson, the highest price paid outside London.

   We are members and regulated by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
